Lotus Notes tender for French shipbuilding centres

NEWS The French Ministry of Defence has put out a tender for software package based on the Lotus Notes-Domino for its shipbuilding department - the 'direction des constructions navales' (DCN). The package is designed to integrate the document management systems for the major eight shipbuilding facilities in metropolitan France: Brest, Cherbourg, Indret, Lorient, Paris, Ruelle, Saint-Tropez and DCN Toulon. The contract will cover data retrieval, possible graphical interfaces, and the deployment and configuration of the application in each DCN centre. The DCN requires the provision of user handbooks and trained personnel (approved by the Ministry of Defence) to provide technical and administrative support for the project. The packages must be created station-by-station with one of the above allocated as a pilot to ensure the application works before mass deployment. The deadline for applications is 10 December 1999.
