Bowstreet launches extranet software

NEWS Business to business Internet specialist Bowstreet Software, has released its first commercial product - Web Automation Factory. The company is targeting Fortune 1,000 firms, business to business trading portals and Application Service Providers (ASP). The software enables mass customisation of Web sites and extranets for clients and business partners. Web Automation Factory uses the emerging DSML standard (Directory Services Markup Language), which describes directory service information in XML (Extensible Markup Language). Supported by IBM, Microsoft, Novell and Oracle, DSML allows companies to exchange information with their customers and partners without knowing the specific data formats of each directory. According to Bob Crowley, president and CEO of Bowstreet, Web Automation Factory will permit companies to create multiple extranets more quickly and cheaply than is currently possible.
