BEA shells out for Java Beans

NEWS Middleware vendor, BEA Systems, has acquired Boston-based Java development firm, The Theory Center, for $100m. The Theory Center creates Enterprise Java Bean components that are used to build ecommerce applications. BEA says the acquisition will help its customers quickly build business software programs that can be customised for ecommerce applications and respond to customers in real time. The Theory Center's 42 employees will join BEA.
