NEWS Cap Gemini has announced a partnership with AutoLocate to allow fleet managers to order cars over the Internet, a move which it is hoped will reduce administration costs by 50 per cent. The service, to be called TransLeasePRO Order Manager, will try to tap into the estimated £15bn UK fleet car market. Cap Gemini claims the service will cut the average administrative cost of a vehicle from £90 to £45 and provide an easily checkable audit trail for each purchase. The system will control all stages of a vehicle purchase, from quotations, through order tracking to invoice chasing. The service will be paid for by users on a per-transaction basis, and does not require any initial software investment. AutoLocate have developed the software for the system with Cap Gemini, who will market and administer the service.
