NEWS Services company, ITNet, has signed a £500,000 contract with Travel Inn for a Unix-based hotel reservations and management system. The three-year deal covers implementation and management of the intranet. Susan Thomas, head of systems for Travel Inn said the Unix operating system will be run on Data General servers rather than the IBM servers used by its parent company, Whitbread. As a result Travel Inn decided to outsource the contract to avoid hiring specialist full-time staff.
