Interactive TV outfit opts for Java

NEWS The Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) Project has announced it will use Java as its interactive television broadcasting standard. Sun Microsystems said the adoption of its technology is another step towards the completion of the DVB-Multimedia Home Platform (MHP) software specification. DVB-MHP is being designed to connect broadcast television, telecoms and Internet computing in devices like set-top boxes, PCs and digital television receivers. The specification should become a standard early next year.
