NEWS AT&T instant messaging customers have been barred from communicating with AOL's own members list. Shortly after AT&T released a product that allowed its customers to chat with AOL's instant messengers, the American ISP began disconnecting them. According to reports, Tribal Voice - providers of AT&T's "I am here" messaging software - claimed AOL started cutting off AT&T customers at 10am. But this is not the first time AOL has barred rivals from accessing its install base: Microsoft underwent a similar shutout this summer after it released a version of MSN Messenger that allowed it to communicate with AOL instant messaging customers.
