NEWS Another round of job losses was announced today by South West Water and Welsh utilities firm, Hyder. Hyder will cut 1,000 jobs from its electricity and water concerns and South West Water will let go of 200 employees. The announcements follow similar moves by Anglian Water, Severn Trent, and Yorkshire Water, in response to regulator Ofwat's order to cut water bills by up to 14 per cent. It brings the total number of job losses announced in the past week to 3,200. Analysts expect that number will continue to rise.
