Lycos' online network to be deployed by ColdFusion

NEWS Lycos has announced it has used Allaire's ColdFusion application server for its latest ecommerce destination, LYCOShop. ColdFusion is used to develop and deploy applications for the Internet and intranets. Lycos are employing ColdFusion to allow integration of content and applications from a variety of different sources into one consumer portal. Jeff Bennett, VP and general manager for ecommerce at Lycos said that the product enabled search engines to work across the LYCOShop database and other extensive catalogues and databases. ColdFusion is a development platform for systems using browsers, servers and databases, and is used by more than 3,500 companies around the world.
