Viewlocity launches supply chain developer tool

NEWS Viewlocity has released a development tool designed to allow companies to build information sharing applications for supply chains. The company claims its XML Connector will help drive the move away from proprietary Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) networks towards an open, Internet-based standard. The company claims the XML Connector will let businesses form dynamic trading communities and take advantage of Web-based collaboration. Its customers have already applied the technology to ERP systems from JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft and SAP, as well as warehouse management systems from McHugh and Provia.
