Oracle scoops up petrochemical contracts

NEWS Oracle now supplies software to 24 out of 25 of the world's top petroleum companies on the Fortune Global 500 list, according to its latest survey. The database and ERP giant claims its systems are now deployed in the oil exploration, refining and transportation units of companies such as BP-Amoco, Chevron, Mobil and Texaco. Chevron recently rolled out Oracle's ebusiness software to link 1,100 of its 8,000 retailers.
