NEWS Inprise has announced it will release an open source version of its SQL database, InterBase, on Linux, Solaris and Windows NT platforms. Commenting on Inprise's decision, Dale Fuller, interim CEO and president of Inprise, claimed companies will be able to deploy and develop Internet and mobile-based applications on any platform. Source code for InterBase 6 is expected to be released during the first half of this year.
