Radicchio signs up 15 new members

NEWS Global ecommerce initiative, Radicchio, this week announced 15 companies are joining the initiative, which aims to provide secure software for wireless transactions. The new members include PKI (public key infrastructure) development specialists Baltimore, iD2 Technologies and Entrust; also signing up are Lucent, VeriSign, Vodafone AirTouch, Visa International and Virgin Mobile. Launched in September 1999 by ADS, Gemplus and Sonera SmartTrust, the alliance aims to promote co-operation by industry members and persuade international regulators and governments to adopt legislation that supports secure wireless ecommerce.
