Autobytel.com to sell cars direct

NEWS Autobytel.com is to sell cars directly from manufacturers over the Internet, according to a report in the New York Times. Speaking to an audience at the annual convention of car dealers in Florida, the car-buying service is to start catering for customers who do not want to buy through dealers. Customers can go through the complete process of buying a car and getting it delivered from the Web site. The news follows Amazon.com's recent move to take a five per cent stake in greenlight.com - an online car buying service launched last year in the US.
