Water regulator critical of government Bill

NEWS The UK government has been heavily criticised by its own regulator for its planned legislation to improve the performance of utilities. Ian Byatt, director general of water services, said in a speech to the WTI at the Royal Aeronautical Society that the utilities Bill is "over-complicated" and "over-prescriptive". He also said that the proposed link between directors pay and water quality owed a lot to "ministers' own agendas".
