NEWS The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned the public to be careful when purchasing medicines over the Internet. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Dr Jane Henney, commissioner of the FDA, voiced concerns over "rogue traders" who may take advantage of customers looking for a cheaper deal online. She added that if medicine is bought from a foreign provider, customers run the risk of receiving a drug that may not be approved in their own country. The FDA is calling for fines of up to $500,000 for every time they sell a drug without the prior consent of the US.
