NEWS Nortel Networks has launched an IP-based wireless software product that will link remote workers to corporate intranets. The product is part of Nortel's PicoNode family of software and will be supported by a base station running EDGE, GPRS, GSM and UMTS radio technologies. Support is also planned for cdma2000, cdmaOne, TDMA IS-136 and UWC-136. Nortel claims the system is a cheap option for adapting to Internet-based business.
