PC apps provided link to digital phones in $500m deal

NEWS Phone.com has bought Paragon Software for $500m in stock. WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) browser company Phone.com will use Paragon's synchronisation technology to link PC applications such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook to over 240 types of digital phones. FoneSync software from Newbury-based Paragon is already licensed to companies including AT&T Wireless, Ericsson and Nokia. It will be integrated with Phone.com's UP.Link Server Suite and UP.Browser.
