NEWS Cisco Systems has taken an equity stake in the auto-xchange supplier network owned by Ford Motors and set up by Oracle. The networking giant will handle Ford's $300bn automotive supply chain and become the exclusive supplier of networking products in a quick-start kit for the car giant's 30,000 suppliers. auto-xchange links together Ford's suppliers via the Web and allows them to take part in product development at an earlier stage.
