PSA Peugot Citron partners Vivendi for Web-enabled cars

NEWS French car manufacturers, PSA Peugot Citron and utility giant Vivendi, are to develop the world's first in-car Internet access system for European motorists. Jean-Marti Solz, president of PSA Peugot Citron, and Jean Marie-Messier, president of Vivendi will announce the details of the partnership on 1 March in Geneva. PSA will use equipment from Vivendi to install access to the Internet, through GSM mobile phones and global position satellite (GPS) services, into all its high-range cars by the Spring. The two companies originally announced plans for Internet connected cars in September 1999.
