Visual Basic set for face-lift at launch of Win2000

NEWS Microsoft is to launch an updated version of Visual Basic to coincide with the launch of Windows 2000, according to Silicon Valley News. Visual Basic packages provide tools that allow the development of applications in any Operating System, but Microsoft wants developers to use it to create next generation Internet software on Windows 2000. Microsoft claims the new version will simplify the building of Internet applications. Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, is reportedly to unveil the new updates to Visual Basic at the Visual Basics Industry Technology Summit in San Francisco today.
