NEWS Honeywell, inventor of 1950s computer system - the D1000 - has started selling its intellectual property online. The company is now best known for its work in aerospace and industrial technologies. But patents from its heyday in the IT industry are now available via online technology trader, yet2.com Some of the patents are mainframe innovations, registered during the 1970s and 1980s - such as an automatic memory-capacity control device for information processing systems. Honeywell joins the ranks of Boeing and Polaroid, which are already boosting revenues by licensing their intellectual property.
