NEWS The Linux operating system has been given further inspiration today as more than a dozen high-tech companies joined forces to form the Embedded Linux Consortium (ELC). The consortium is designed to encourage the use of the open source operating system within embedded designs such as those used to control cars, home appliances or Internet appliances.
