NEWS Spanish telecoms giant, Telefonica pulled out of the UK auction for a third generation wireless licence late yesterday, as bidding topped £21.2bn. The move leaves just six players left, with five licences on offer. All four incumbent operators - BT3G, One2One, Orange and Vodafone - are still in the running, fighting it out with newcomers TIW of Canada and NTL Mobile.
