Joint industry venture for specialist rubber website

NEWS Six of the largest companies in the rubber and tyre industry have joined forces to create an online marketplace for global procurement. Rubbernetwork.com is the combined efforts of Continental, Cooper, Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli and Sumitomo Rubber. All members are confident that having a global exchange through which they can buy equipment, raw materials, machinery, as well as goods and services will generate major cost savings. However, transactions will be protected through firewall technology to ensure that confidentiality of each company's business agreements with suppliers.
