NEWS Last week's 'I Love You' email virus effected 600,000 machines in the US and cost American businesses over $2.5bn in damage, according to a survey from the Angus Reid Group. The survey, sponsored by anti-virus vendor Symantec, found that companies were hit hardest, with 23 per cent reporting infection compared to just three per cent of home users. Of those firms hit by the bug, 47 per cent said their systems were damaged as a result and a further nine per cent were forced to shut down systems while the infection was controlled.
