NEWS VA Linux has reported a 710 per cent increase in third quarter revenue compared to the same period in 1999. The open source specialist's revenues were $34.6m for the period ending 28 April - 71 per cent higher than the second quarter figures. Larry Augustin, president and CEO of VA Linux, said the company's performance is definitive proof of the growing demand for Internet infrastructure products based on Linux and open source. The company announced plans to expand into Europe earlier this year and said in the report that selling is expected to begin early next fiscal year.
