NEWS Palm computing has bought calendar technology company Anyday.com in a deal worth $80m. Anyday.com develops Web-based calendar products that can bring personal services - such as flight times, sports and entertainment postings - to its users. Palm will incorporate these features onto their own handheld devices. Carl Yankowski, Palm's CEO, said the acquisition is central to his company's drive to stream more Internet applications and services to its handheld products. Palm Pilot users can use the services immediately from either the www.palm.com or the www.anyday.com site.
