NEWS Twenty-one US energy companies have invested a total of $100m to create and online business-to-business (B2B) marketplace called Pantellos Corporation. Commerce One will provide the technology for the initiative, which will provide a platform for the purchase of goods and services between the energy industry and its suppliers. The participants include American Electric Power, Edison International, and PG&E Corporation. Pantellos will use the start-up money to fund development and deliver technology-enabled supply chain software. The founding companies have contacted 1,500 suppliers to take part in the marketplace.
