NEWS Hatfield -based water firm, Three Valleys Water, has paid £800,000 for a field information system from Tadpole-Cartesia. The system is based on Cartesia's Java-based thin client software running on a J-Slate wireless Internet device. Three Valleys Water has purchased 200 of the devices. Three Valleys made the purchase as part of its initiative to drive down the cost of field operations and to improve field-worker productivity.
