Oracle simplifies product line by integration

NEWS Oracle is to simplify its entire product line by integrating half of its database software packages as standard features on core operating systems. Software products previously listed as individual items on the Oracle pricing list will now be included at no extra cost on primary applications including the Oracle8i database and the Oracle ebusiness suite applications. The newly released Oracle Application Server8i and the Oracle Internet Developer Suite will also contain software features previously priced separately. The applications to be integrated include management tools, business intelligence products and portal services. Only software that provides greater levels of security or enhanced performance will be charged additionally.
