Autonomy chief bags top entrepreneur award

NEWS Mike Lynch, founder and CEO of Autonomy, has been named Ernst & Young Technology and Communication Entrepreneur of the Year. Lynch founded Autonomy, which develops intelligent database technology, four years ago on a £2,000 loan and has turned the company into a $5bn enterprise with offices in Asia Pacific, Benelux, France, Germany, UK and US. Other award winners included Alex van Someren of security specialist nCipher, and Nick Ogden of WorldPay, an ecommerce provider.
