NEWS High-street booksellers are fighting a losing battle against Amazon.com in Europe, according to a report from IDC. The dot-com pioneer has been successful in extending its exploding book e-tail business into Europe and sales figures are shadowing competing high street vendors in most European locations. As well as its online stores, Amazon has a physical presence in Austria, Germany and the UK.
