NEWS UK business-to-business (B2B) marketplace, mondus, has attracted $150m stock and cash investment from Italian phone directory publisher, Seat Pagine Gialle. The deal is mondus' third round of financing and will give Seat 40 per cent ownership of the SME marketplace. Marcus Gerhardt, director of corporate relations at mondus, said: "With the money, we'll be looking at adding further functionality to the product. We also want to consolidate the business in the UK, France and Germany, and expand into Scandanavia." With offices in Finland and Sweden on the agenda in the near future, mondus also plans to expand into Benelux and southern Europe. Gerhardt added: "We've said vaguely that the IPO will happen in 2001. We recognise the need to do what's right for the business, and IPO has always been the goal."
