Sanyo brings Symbian on board for wireless strategy

NEWS Sanyo has agreed a deal to use Symbian technology in the future development of next generation wireless devices. Sanyo joins Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Philips and Sony in using Symbian's EPOC software platform. Handheld devices using the EPOC platform are expected hit the market at the end of this year and in the first quarter of 2001. The first release is expected to come from Ericsson.
