NEWS A US federal court has ordered Microsoft to pay software maker Bristol Technology $1m in damages for "wanton" and "reckless" business practices. According to the Wall Street Journal, Judge Janet Hall found that Microsoft used deceptive business practices and violated Connecticut's fair trade laws. The decision reverses a previous civil ruling which found in Microsoft's favour. Bristol's lawyer said the latest ruling throws doubt over the previous case, and vowed to call for a new trial. Microsoft plans to appeal against the verdict.
