Microsoft loses another executive

A Microsoft veteran of 14 years, Paul Maritz, has become the latest executive to leave the company, putting his departure down to 'personal reasons'.

NEWS As vice president of the platform strategy and developer group, Maritz was behind the company's .NET strategy, launched earlier this year. He was also the author of the infamous email of the anti-trust trial, in which he suggested Microsoft "cut off Netscape's air supply" by bundling a web browser into Windows. Maritz's departure from Microsoft follows those of CFO Greg Maffei, CTO Nathan Myhrvold, and vice president of the developer marketing and platforms solutions group, Tod Nielsen.
