Airports unite to offer the world on a website

The British Airport Authority (BAA) is in talks with leading airports across the world, to create an ebusiness alliance.

NEWS Called World Airports, BAA said it was holding discussions with Charles de Gaulle, Copenhagen, Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, Indianapolis International, Melbourne and Orly. All British airports under BAA jurisdiction, including Heathrow and Gatwick, are also participating in negotiations. Two areas of development currently being debated are a business-to-business website, Worldairports.com, offering online travel agency services, and Airportsmart.com - an online procurement exchange. In a statement, the BAA said: "Member airports have the potential to transform customer service for passengers worldwide. By offering an independent source of web-based services, accessed by computer or mobile device, they can help passengers to find the best way to travel to, through and beyond the world's leading airports."
