webMethods signs partners to ease B2B set-up

B2B solutions integrator webMethods is partnering with a slew of companies including Dun & Bradstreet, FedEx, Logistics.com, Slam Dunk Networks and VeriSign as it works to become a one-stop shop for B2B services.

NEWS Dun & Bradstreet will supply customers with credit checking services while FedEx will provide package tracking facilities. Logistics.com will deliver optimization-based technology to shippers and transport providers. Slam Dunk Networks are to provide webMethods' customers with the capability to securely connect with all trading partners, and VeriSign will provide authentication and validation services. Services from additional companies will be added to the portfolio, which is being called webMethods Value Added Services (VAS), in the future. One analyst is upbeat about webMethod's approach. "B2B integration is no longer just about connecting partners, suppliers, and marketplaces, but involves integrating high-value services common to most organizations into a B2B solution," said Tyler McDaniel of the Hurwitz Group
