Siemens bids for Honeywell automation unit

Siemens has offered $1.5bn to buy the systems automation unit of American firm Honeywell International.

NEWS The German giant has refused to comment on the specifics of the offer, but has admitted it has long been interested in acquiring an automation unit. Honeywell announced it was considering ceasing its automation activities following poor financial results in June.
