NEWS Qpass provides the infrastructure for micro payment and billing over all platforms - mobile, PDA, PC and digital TV. The company is urging companies in Europe to begin thinking about the next stage of ecommerce, where content providers charge customers for more valuable content on a subscription or piece-meal basis. European MD Bill Barnard believes content providers going online in the music, print and video industries should adopt three-tier payment strategies. He said: "Some content will be free and available through subscription, then customers will be prepared to pay for the rare content." Qpass is also aiming to forge payment agreements with mobile phone companies so customers can buy prepaid cards online.
