Lucent finances wrong again

Lucent has announced its fourth quarter results are to be downgraded, prolonging the flawed financial reporting they have suffered throughout 2000.

NEWS A company statement said Lucent is to restate its fourth-quarter revenues, reducing the original figure by around $125m, adding that a forecast for the upcoming three-month period may not be made. Missed targets, lost market share and management upheaval, have all dogged the firm, dragging Lucent stock down almost 75 per cent over the course of the year.
