Progress Software to release open source code

Ebusiness solutions firm Progress Software is to release its application development environment (ADE) source code to the development community.

NEWS Under an open source licensing model, the Progress Open Source Software Exchange, Progress has allowed developers to collaborate in creating more powerful ebusiness applications. The Progress ADE is used to create business applications that use Progress Software deployment products. The new version (9.1B) will allow participants to promote their own developments in a forum with their peers. Approximately 2,000 Progress Independent Software Vendors have built and deployed over 5,000 applications for more than 100,000 customer sites around the world.
