NEWS Autonomy opened its Toronto regional office in Canada, but a less than sparkling performance on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) yesterday marred the expansion strategy. Christine Marshall, district sales manager of the new office, said in a statement: "Business and technology companies in Canada represent a strong developing market for Autonomy. Canada is one of the most wired countries in the world with more than 50 per cent of the population currently online. Establishing partners in Canada is a natural extension of our business goals." Autonomy shares are bucking a falling FTSE this morning, rising from yesterday's close of £24.48.
