Inktomi invests $10m in Primus

Search engine specialist Inktomi has extended its move into mobile communications with a $10m investment in Primus Telecommunications Group.

NEWS Inktomi has bought 2,862,254 restricted shares in the firm, which bundles ecommerce and voice services products, cementing the partnership revealed last June. The strategic alliance will extend Primus' internet network for content delivery and streaming media services by using Inktomi's network solutions. When announcing the initial pairing, David Peterschmidt, president and CEO of Inktomi, said: "Inktomi's alliance with Primus reinforces our leadership position in delivering essential internet infrastructure technology to the world's leading networks."
