Whispers of a Loudcloud deal with Murdoch

Loudcloud, the latest brainchild of Netscape founder Marc Andreesen, has inked a global web infrastructure deal with Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

NEWS The news comes hot on the heels of Murdoch's decision early in the new year to wind down News Corp's internet division. According to a report in the Guardian, the deal, as yet unconfirmed by Loudcloud, would see it provide the technology backbone for all of News Corp's web offerings. Loudcloud, which provides hosting and services for companies' web presence, was formed just over a year ago by Andreesen and Tim Howe, also ex-Netscape and formerly VP of technology for AOL. It has filed in the US for IPO, but has given no date as yet.
