World's highest earning ASP axes staff

US-based ASP USinternetworking has laid off a quarter of its workforce despite beating analysts' expectations in first quarter results this week.

NEWS Research house IDC has just singled out USinternetworking as the world's biggest earning ASP, but the company is still implementing $35m cost cuts. First quarter revenue was $36.7m, with a net loss of 33 cents per share. Revenue for the second quarter is expected to be $34m with losses increasing up to 35 cents a share.
