NEWS According to a survey out today by Avaya Communications, poor music can cause over half of callers to ring off, particularly if they are forced to hold for long periods of time. Avaya also found that some call centres are playing inappropriate music. For example it claims a hospital casualty unit was playing the funeral march by Chopin, a mail order firm playing hanging on the telephone by Blondie, and a clothing firm played Fat-bottomed girls by Queen.
