The hottest email in town

Microsoft's free email service Hotmail has topped the 100 million user mark.

NEWS In addition, the software giant announced that the user base for its instant messaging software, which allows users to type messages to one another over the web in real-time, grew by two million users in March, to nearly 32 million worldwide. According to web research conducted by Jupiter Media Metrix, MS has now taken the lead over AOL's instant messenger program. Although these services are currently free, this large customer base is ideal for MS to implement its .Net strategy with the intention of charging for internet services.
