IBM goes to the Opera

Norweigian software company Opera has struck a deal to furnish IBM's NetVista appliance with the Opera 5.0 browser.

NEWS Opera's 5.0 will run on QNX platform, IBM's choice of a Unix-flavoured operating system for the device. NetVista is IBM's series of PCs designed both for business and home environments. Opera currently runs on Windows, Linux, MacOS, EPOC and BeOS/BeIA. It announced last year it would give a version of its browser away free to users, choosing instead to carry banner ads to recoup money. Registered and paid for copies do not have the ad window.
